I have read fairly recently that those who tailgate and/or hog the middle lane whilst driving on our motorways are to be fined up to £90. This is simply not enough! This doesn't even start to compensate for the inconvenience of having to wind down your window and shouting "pull over you simple minded oaf" to the hat wearing fogey who will simply not pull back into the inside lane; but I suppose that it is a good enough start. But while we are on the subject I would like to throw in a few more behavioural anomalies that I think are worthy of financial punishment whilst driving.

- failing to indicate
- wearing a hat
- having a hat arranged on your rear parcel shelf in between a box of tissues and a tartan travel rug [double the fine if the hat is of the Panama type]
- having an offensive wife
- not being able to park properly
- allowing children to flash V's from the rear seats
- not being in a rush when clearly I am
